Gina and Steve chose a great location for their wedding – the tiny 11th-century chapel of St Tugual on the island of Herm, a short boat ride from Guernsey in the Channel Islands, with a reception afterwards in a marquee in the grounds of the White House Hotel. And the weather was almost perfect – sunshine and blue skies, albeit there was a bit of a breeze blowing!
Herm is a small, secluded island, with no cars – the bridal party travelled up to the chapel in golf carts! Although it is visited by tourists it’s not overwhelmed even in summer, and still has a calm, peaceful atmosphere.
I had the pleasure of working with photographer Yasmin Mariess and her husband Paul, who were very generous with their hospitality and welcomed me to Guernsey.
And a special thank-you of course to Gina and Steve for inviting me to share their special day – it was a very enjoyable wedding to shoot!
